The Alleged N3.2bn Fraud of Orji Uzor Kalu’s trial impeded

The  trial of the former governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji uzo Kalu and two others over an alleged N3.2 billion fraud, before the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, was, yesterday,  impeded due to non issuance of fresh ‘decree’ to the lawsuit judge, Justice Mohammed Idris, by the President of Court of Appeal, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa.

Kalu together with his former Commissioner for Finance, Udeh Jones Udeogu and Kalu’s Organization, Slok Nigeria Limited are being hassled in the court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, onthe alleged fraud.
At the resumed hearing of the matter yesterday,  the prosecutor, Mr. Rotimi Jacob, SAN, had informed the court that the matter was slated for the continuation of the  ordeal of the defendants and that the former governor was not in court.
The prosecutor also said to the court that at the last hearing of the court case, the court had mandated  the former governor who had voyaged out of the country without the court’s consent, to avail himself and his travelling documents to the  EFCC.
