Liverpool’s spot in the Community Shield has been affirmed after a triumphant victory Manchester City had over Watford with a 6-0 in the FA Cup Final.
Liverpool will now face City in the Community Shield clash which signifies the opening of the 2019/20 football season, after finishing second position in the Premier League this season.
After City concluded a historic treble, the first in the English men’s game, the second placed team plays in the season opener.
This is the first time that Liverpool have appeared in the Community Shield since 2006, where Rafa Benitez led the Reds to a 2-1 triumph over Chelsea.
